We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate MFT Pre-Grad (Student) Therapist to join our team. The Pre-Grad Therapist will provide therapeutic services under the supervision of a licensed clinician. This role is designed to offer hands-on experience in a supportive and educational environment, helping the Pre-Grad Therapist develop skills necessary for a successful career in marriage and family therapy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Diversity, Inclusion & Equity (DEI) and Trauma Informed Resilience Oriented Community (TIROC) practices are infused throughout the programing.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the organization to assure that the department services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the clients we serve.
  • Review department policies, procedures, manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes and ensure that program is always compliant with Council of Accreditation (COA) standards.
  • Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all pertinent to client care information to assure clients' rights are protected.
  • Represent the organization as ambassadors and experts in the field with external stakeholders, partnering agencies, and governmental entities.
  • Develop a culture within the program of learning and embed the Continuous Quality Improvement within all areas of the work.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions under supervision.
  • Conduct initial client assessments to identify therapy goals and treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with clients and supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of client sessions, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Participate in regular supervision meetings with licensed clinicians to discuss cases, receive feedback, and ensure compliance with ethical standards. This includes both individual and group.
  • Assist in crisis intervention situations as needed and appropriate, under supervision.
  • Attend training sessions, workshops, and seminars to enhance therapeutic skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal standards in counseling practices.
  • Travel to client homes, schools and various areas in the communities to provide services.
  • Be available 24/7 for crisis (if working in an intensive program).
  • Attend various staff engagements, CFT's, IEP's etc. to coordinate and collaborate on client treatment (if working in an intensive program).

Job Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's program in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • Must be working towards obtaining licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Previous experience in a counseling or therapeutic setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in maintaining client confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Provide office based and/or field-based services to clients
  • Have an operational and insured car to travel to client homes and various areas in the community.

Practicum Hours Verification:

Hours will be signed weekly during supervision by program supervisor. Program supervisor will report performance on a monthly basis to practicum instructor.

After 12 months, program leadership will evaluate Pre-Grad Therapists performance to determine renewal eligibility with the agency to continue accrual of hours.

Pre-Grad Therapist shall agree that school responsibilities won't compromise the integrity of agency needs or interrupt client care.
