We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong passion for early childhood education and the ability to create a nurturing environment for young children. The Preschool Teacher will be responsible for designing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, fostering cognitive and social development, and ensuring the safety and welfare of all children

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide careful and effective supervision of children's activities as assigned by the Program Supervisor and Regional Manager
  • Implement positive behavior reinforcement techniques and address any behavioral issues promptly and appropriately
  • Maintain open communication with children, parents, and staff, providing updates and addressing concerns as needed
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with the preschool's curriculum goals and educational philosophy
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, reporting any hazards or incidents to the Program Supervisor or Regional Manager
  • Utilize the Creative Curriculum in the School Readiness Program for children aged 3-5.
  • Create an engaging and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active learning, curiosity, and creativity (ECERS)
  • Promote social skills and emotional development through group activities, play, and interactions
  • Regularly assess and monitor each child's progress and development, maintaining accurate records and communicating with parents or guardians
  • Uphold safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of all children
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to foster a cohesive and supportive educational team
  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and staff meetings to remain updated on industry trends and best practices
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, addressing concerns and providing updates on children's development
  • Assist in coordinating school events, outings, and parent-teacher conferences
  • Adhere to the preschool's policies, values, and code of conduct in all interactions with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Work closely with Teachers and parents to enhance the use of developmentally appropriate learning and school readiness activities
  • Collaborate with Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers to compile observations and input data into DRDP-Tech and ASQ-SE
  • Contribute to and facilitate school readiness events, workshops, and trainings
  • Play an integral role in a cohesive Early Childhood Education team
  • Offer support to colleagues as required, based on specific program needs
  • Potty train as needed

Job Qualifications:

  • Possession of an Associate Teacher permit to the standard of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing or ability to acquire withing 5 months of the hire.
  • Minimum of 12 units in Early Childhood Education including core course
  • Six months experience working with children in a group setting
  • 1-3 years of experience in Preschool or early childhood setting
  • Must provide TB clearance within the last 12 month and must retest a minimum of every two years of required by Community Care Licensing
  • Solid understanding of child development theories, early childhood education methodologies, curriculum planning, ASQ Screening Tool, DRDP, and ECERS.
  • Demonstrates patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children
  • Minimum of 15 hours of training in prevention health practices including CPR and First Aid certification
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
  • Ability to sit on the floor, bend at waist, kneel and/or stoop 75% of the time
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Computer skills including Microsoft 360 and able to use TEAMS and ZOOM video conferencing platforms
