Learn more about the Job:

The Child and Family Specialist is responsible for providing skill building, advocacy, behavioral support of the Wraparound clients and their families enrolled in its program. Assists the Facilitator in assessing client's strengths, goals, and addressing needs according to the life domains. Provides targeted interventions with family, children, and community agencies to ensure the client's placement permanency, safety, and well-being.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under supervision of the Wraparound Coordinator and Wraparound Clinical Supervisor.
  • Performs 1:1 behavioral/skill building for clients who demonstrate significant level of psychosocial impairment.
  • Visually reviews medical, psychosocial, school and other records
  • Meets with clients, families, treatment staff, placement staff, consultants, and other agency personnel to understand and meet the underlying needs.
  • CFS assists with assessing family and child goals and strengths to support with plan developing.
  • Intervenes by telephone or in person with the client in an emergency crisis to provide support and assistance in problem resolution. (Possibility of being on call after hours and weekends).
  • Monitors, supports, and assists the client in developing or maintaining skills needed to achieve stability.
  • Identifies and mobilizes resources to meet the client's needs including consultation and intervention with community linkages.
  • Supports with advocacy for children and family, friends, legal guardian, and significant others to initiate and maintain supportive networks.
  • This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and employees will also perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the Senior Case Manager or his/her designee as needed.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible and varied schedule.
  • Maintains 100% billable service delivery
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Qualifications:

Experience

  • At least three (3) year direct service experience with working with high need children and families. (*preferred)
  • 1 year case management experience (*preferred)
  • Previous experience providing Wraparound highly desirable. (*preferred)

Education, Professional Training, or Certification

  • Must possess a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, childcare counseling, sociology.
  • Education or development from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid California driver's license.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Must be able to work a flexible and varied schedule which may include evenings, split shifts, and weekends as necessary.
  • Maintains confidentiality in matters of agency operations, personnel, and clients
  • Maintains positive communication with all agency staff, clients and visitors
  • Exercises good judgement in performance of duties and responsibilities
  • Supports existing agency policies, principles and mission.
  • Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with high need children's and families, communicate with the community public, schools, doctors, regional Ctr etc?
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of community services and county agencies.
